Meals During Overtime. Meals which must be consumed on the job after the normal workday and while working in an overtime situation are not to be considered as an interruption of overtime work performed. The County shall neither pay for nor provide meals, nor is an employee who takes a break for a meal to be considered as being in a paid status. An employee, upon request, shall be allowed to take a thirtythirty (30) minute meal break after two (2) hours overtime and every four (4) hours thereafter. The County retains the right to refuse requests for meal breaks in the event of emergency.
