Independent Status of the Academy. The Academy is a body corporate and governmental entity authorized by the Code. It is organized and shall operate as a public school academy and a Michigan nonprofit corporation. The Academy is not a division or a part of Saginaw Valley State University. The relationship between the Academy and the University is based solely on the applicable provisions of the Code and the terms of this Contract or other written agreements between the University and the Academy.

Independent Status of the Academy. The Academy is a body corporate and governmental entity authorized by the Code. It is organized and shall operate as a public school academy and a nonprofit corporation. It is not a division or part of Xxxxxx State University, and the Academy is not empowered to act on behalf of Xxxxxx State University or the University Board with respect to any matter whatsoever. The relationship between the Academy and the University Board is based solely on the applicable provisions of the Code and the terms of this Contract or other formal written agreements between the University Board and the Academy. Financial Obligations of the Academy are Separate from the State of Michigan, University Board and the University. Any contract, mortgage, loan or other instrument of indebtedness entered into by the Academy and a third party shall not in any way constitute an obligation, either general, special, or moral, of the State of Michigan, the University Board, or the University. Neither the full faith and credit nor the taxing power of the State of Michigan or any agency of the State, nor the full faith and credit of the University Board or the University shall ever be pledged for the payment of any Academy contract, mortgage, loan or other instrument of indebtedness.

  • Independent Status of Contractor In the performance of this Contract, the parties shall be acting in their individual, corporate or governmental capacities and not as agents, employees, partners, joint ventures, or associates of one another. The parties intend that an independent contractor relationship shall be created by this Contract. The Contractor shall be responsible for all federal and/or state tax, industrial insurance, wages, benefits, or other compensation by or on behalf of the Contractor and its employees. The Contractor shall not make any claim of right, privilege or benefit which would accrue to an employee under chapter 41.06 RCW or Title 51 RCW.

  • Independent Status The employees, volunteers, or agents of each party who are engaged in the performance of this Agreement will continue to be employees, volunteers, or agents of that party and will not for any purpose be employees, volunteers, or agents of the other party.

  • Status of the Agreement This Agreement shall supersede any rules, regulations, policies, resolutions or practices of the District, which shall be contrary to or inconsistent with its terms.

  • Independent Investigation Subscriber, in making the decision to purchase the Units, has relied upon an independent investigation of the Company and has not relied upon any information or representations made by any third parties or upon any oral or written representations or assurances from the Company, its officers, directors or employees or any other representatives or agents of the Company, other than as set forth in this Agreement.   • STATUS OF THIS AGREEMENT 4.1 This contract governs your engagement from time to time by the University as a casual worker. This is not an employment contract and does not confer any employment rights on you (other than those to which workers are entitled). In particular, it does not create any obligation on the University to provide work to you. By entering into this contract you confirm your understanding that the University makes no promise or guarantee of a minimum level of work to you and you will work on a flexible "as required" basis.
