Independent Status. The employees, volunteers, or agents of each party who are engaged in the performance of this Agreement will continue to be employees, volunteers, or agents of that party and will not for any purpose be employees, volunteers, or agents of the other party.

Independent Status. Nothing in this Agreement will be construed or deemed to create a relationship of employer and employee, partner, joint venturer, or principal and agent between MassCEC and Grantee, its employees, agents, or officers.
Independent Status. Except as otherwise provided in Paragraph 26 herein below, for purposes of this Agreement, the AAA acknowledges that the AAA is not an officer, employee, or agent of DSHS or the State of Washington. In providing the services under this Agreement, the Consultant represents and warrants that it has complied with all applicable federal, state and local laws particularly with respect to licenses, withholdings, reporting and payment of taxes. The Consultant agrees to furnish copies of documentation to the Authority evidencing its compliance with such laws. The Consultant further represents and warrants that any income accruing to the Consultant and its employees from the Agreement shall be reported as such to the appropriate taxation authorities.
