Effect of Mandated Fringe Benefits. In the event that State or Federal law shall mandate the granting to employees of benefits or other terms and conditions of employment which duplicate, supplement, or otherwise impinge upon benefits or other terms and conditions of employment set forth herein, the provisions of this Memorandum of Understanding so duplicated, supplemented, or impinged upon shall be void and of no further effect as of the date the mandated benefit or term and condition of employment becomes effective, but the parties hereto shall then meet and confer with regard to such benefit or other term and condition of employment in order to assure that the State or Federal mandate does not result in an overall loss of benefits to employees.
