CIVIL RIGHTS UNDER ALAMO COLLEGES DISTRICT POLICIES. The Alamo Colleges District Policy and Procedure on Civil Rights prohibits discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in violation of several statutes, including but not limited to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. In particular, Section 504 prohibits discrimination and the denial of benefits or participation in any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance on the basis of disability. The protection extends to employees and Students. Title IX provides that no person shall on the basis of sex shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal assistance. Title IX prohibits discrimination based on sex (gender) of employees and students at educational institutions receiving federal financial assistance. “Sex” and gender discrimination under Title IX includes gender discrimination, cover sexual harassment and sexual assaults and violence occurring on campus. The Alamo Colleges District does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or retaliation on the basis of any protected criteria, including gender or disability. To ensure compliance with the Civil Rights Policy and Procedure on Civil Rights Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation, the Alamo Colleges District have designated a Title IX/VII/ADA/504 Coordinator to coordinate the investigation and resolution District-wide of complaints under the Civil Rights Policy and Procedure. All civil rights complaints should be reported or routed to the District Title IX/Title VII/ADA/504 Coordinator for handling and processing. At all times, the Coordinator and the school district will keep each other informed of complaints raised against each other. If the complaint involves a student as the accused or accuser, the Parties will agree on which party will undertake the investigation. All Students will have access to AlamoCARES, a prevention, education and support program regarding dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Within the AlamoCARES site, students will find information on rights granted by Title IX and other federal statutes and resources to help educate and assist them when dealing with gender or disability discrimination, retaliation, and sexual harassment and violence.   • Civil Rights – General – 49 USC § 47123 The Company agrees to observe and comply with those requirements of the FAA set forth in Exhibit D, Federal Aviation Administration Required Provisions, as such requirements may be amended or interpreted by the FAA or the United States Department of Transportation from time to time.   • CERTIFICATION PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION AGAINST FIREARM AND AMMUNITION INDUSTRIES (Texas law as of September 1, 2021) By submitting a proposal to this Solicitation, you certify that you agree, when it is applicable, to the following required by Texas law as of September 1, 2021: If (a) company is not a sole proprietorship; (b) company has at least ten (10) full-time employees; (c) this contract has a value of at least $100,000 that is paid wholly or partly from public funds; (d) the contract is not excepted under Tex. Gov’t Code § 2274.003 of SB 19 (87th leg.); and (e) governmental entity has determined that company is not a sole-source provider or governmental entity has not received any bids from a company that is able to provide this written verification, the following certification shall apply; otherwise, this certification is not required. Gov’t Code § 2274.001(3) of SB 19.
