Common use of Child Care Workers Clause in Contracts

Child Care Workers. If an employee engaged in child care works on a public holiday or, a public holiday occurs on the employees rostered day off, the employee will be paid at ordinary time rates for the time worked and in addition will be entitled to receive: (a) One and a half days extra pay, or by agreement between the employer and the employee, equal time off in lieu of the extra one and a half day’s pay, to be taken within four weeks of the date of the public holiday; one and half days will be added to the employee’s annual leave; or (b) In the case of an employee not qualifying for annual leave, one and a half days pay in lieu of annual leave; and (c) One and half times the ordinary rate of pay for any work done in excess of eight hours on the public holiday.
