Elevating your complaint outside of Amex Bank of Canada Once the Amex Bank of Canada Office of the Chief of Complaints has provided a decision on your complaint and you are still not satisfied, the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI) can provide you with information and a further review of your complaint.
However, 90 days after reaching Step Two you have the right to contact the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI).

ELEVATING YOUR COMPLAINT OUTSIDE OF AMEX BANK OF CANADA Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (“OBSI”) If we have not resolved your complaint within 56 days, or you are not satisfied with the resolution offered by our CCO, you may escalate your complaint to our external complaints body, OBSI, for additional information and a further review of your complaint.
OBSI provides an independent and impartial process for the investigation and resolution of complaints about the provision of financial services to clients.
OBSI can make a non-binding recommendation that your firm compensate you (up to $350,000) if it determines that you have been treated unfairly, taking into account the criteria of good financial services and business practice, relevant codes of practice or conduct, industry regulation and the law.
During its investigation, OBSI may interview you and representatives of our firm.
If your claim is higher, you will have to agree to that limit on any compensation you seek through OBSI.
