Lesion definition

Lesion means any discontinuity of tissue or loss of function of a part of the body as a result of disease or trauma.
Lesion means an opening in the skin such as a boil or infected wound from which pus or drainage occurs.
Lesion means a specific genetic alteration or biomarker that may include gene mutation, deletion, increased copy number, enhanced or decreased expression, epigenetic regulation or other perturbation influencing protein production or activity.
