Law enforcement agency of the state definition

Law enforcement agency of the state means the department and any agency that exists within the department and employs at least one peace officer, including but not limited to the Colorado state patrol created in part 2 of this article, the Colorado bureau of investigation created in part 4 of this article, and the division of criminal justice created in part 5 of this article.

It includes the enforcement components of DOL (Wage and Hour Division, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board. It also means a State agency designated to administer an OSHA-approved State Plan, but only to the extent that the State agency is acting in its capacity as administrator of such plan. It does not include other Federal agencies which, in their capacity as contracting agencies, conduct investigations of potential labor law violations. The enforcement agencies associated with each labor law under E.O. 13673 are–

  • Law enforcement unit means an individual office, department, division, or other component of an education agency or institution that is officially authorized or designated by that agency or institution to (1) enforce laws or refer matters of law enforcement to appropriate authorities, or (2) maintain the physical security and safety of the agency or institution.

  • Municipal Law Enforcement Officer means a person appointed under the authority of the Police Services Act for the purpose of enforcing City by-laws.

  • Law enforcement officer means any officer authorized to direct or regulate traffic or to make

  • Code enforcement officer means the Code Enforcement Officer appointed pursuant to subdivision (b) of section 3 of this local law.

  • Post-Enforcement Priority of Payments means the order of priority pursuant to which the Guarantor Available Funds shall be applied on each Guarantor Payment Date, following the delivery of a Guarantor Default Notice, in accordance with the Intercreditor Agreement.

  • Appellate Authority means Committee of Directors consisting of Director (Finance) and Director (BD) for works centers under Director (Projects). For all other cases committee of Directors shall consist of Director (Finance) & Director (Projects).

  • Maritime agency services means activities consisting in representing, within a given geographic area, as an agent the business interests of one or more shipping lines or shipping companies, for the following purposes:

  • clerk of the court means the person who for the time being is the clerk of every Magistrates Court at a place or places appointed under this Act for the holding of Magistrates Courts in question, and includes any assistant clerk of the court, deputy clerk of the court and any person who for the time being occupies or performs the duties of such office.
