Latent TB infection definition

Latent TB infection or “LTBI” means infection with M. tuberculosis without symptoms or signs of disease having manifested.
Latent TB infection means Mycobacterium tuberculosis is present inside the body of a person and is not actively replicating or causing TB symptoms and is not communicable.
Latent TB infection or "LTBI" means the condition in which organisms capable of causing disease (i.e., M. tuberculosis) enter the body and elicit a response from the host's immune defenses. LTBI may or may not progress to clinical disease.
