Flowback definition

Flowback means any substance containing re- turned “hydraulic fracturing” fluid, including but not limited to water, “proppants,” “hydraulic fracturing” fluid additives; and, any hydrocarbon compounds, salts, conventional pollutants, organics, metals, and naturally occurring radioactive material brought to the surface with the water.
Flowback means liquids and solids produced during initial completion and clean- up of the well or clean-up of a well following a re-fracture or workover.
Flowback means the water-based solution that flows back to the surface during and after the completion of hydraulic fracturing a Well.

The term flowback also means the fluids and entrained solids flowing from a well after drilling or hydraulic fracturing or refracturing. Flowback ends when all temporary flowback equipment is removed from service. Flowback does not include drill-out.
