Competing Investment Option definition

Competing Investment Option means (a) any investment fund that seeks to maintain 80% or more of the assets in investment grade U.S. fixed income securities that have a:
Competing Investment Option means an investment option under the Plan (other than this Contract) which:
Competing Investment Option means an investment option under the Plan or an Investment Option under this Contract which: (a) provides a direct or indirect guarantee of interest crediting or investment performance; or (b) is invested primarily in a portfolio of fixed income or similar assets, (including, without limitation, a stable value fund, money market fund or bond fund); or (c) is, or which may be invested primarily in financial vehicles (such as mutual funds, trusts, custodial accounts and annuity contracts) which are in turn invested substantially in a portfolio described in subsection (b) above; or (d) any other annuity contract.

Examples of Competing Investment Option in a sentence

  • After a transfer involving a Competing Investment Option or any Surrender has occurred, no subsequent transfers, to or from a Competing Investment Option, may occur during the ensuing 90 days from the date of the transfer.

  • A Transfer into a Competing Investment Option, or a non-Benefit Withdrawal, from any non-Competing Investment Option offered under the Contract has not occurred, and is not permitted, within 90 days of the Transfer from the Fixed Plus Account.

  • After a transfer involving a Competing Investment Option has occurred, payment of any subsequent Surrender may be delayed for a period of 90 days from the date of the transfer involving a Competing Investment Option.

  • For the avoidance of doubt, the [Fixed Account A] is not a Competing Investment Option for purposes of applying Equity Wash Restrictions.


More Definitions of Competing Investment Option

Competing Investment Option means an investment option determined by Minnesota Life and shall include but not be limited to the following types of investment options:
Competing Investment Option. Any type of investment marketed by a financial institution which includes in its terms and conditions a guarantee of principal and interest, any money market mutual fund, any money market investment, any investment fund that consists primarily of investments in short-term bonds and any other fund determined by the Company to be a competing fund.
Competing Investment Option means any Separate Account or Sub-Account which provides a direct or indirect guarantee of investment performance; or is invested primarily in assets other than common or preferred stock; or is invested in financial vehicles (such as mutual funds, trusts, and insurance company contracts) which are, in turn, invested primarily in assets other than common or preferred stock. Minnesota Life will make the determination of whether or not any specific Separate Account or Sub-Account is considered a Competing Investment Option.

Related to Competing Investment Option

  • Call Option means an exchange traded option with respect to Securities other than Stock Index Options, Futures Contracts, and Futures Contract Options entitling the holder, upon timely exercise and payment of the exercise price, as specified therein, to purchase from the writer thereof the specified underlying Securities.

  • Eligible Shares has the meaning assigned to such term in Section 4.1(a).
