Common use of Working Out of Classification Clause in Contracts

Working Out of Classification. SECTION 1. Each time an employee is officially designated by the appropriate supervisor to act in a higher classification, and actually performs said duties for one (1) complete duty shift and meets the minimum qualifications of said position, the employee shall be compensated for all hours worked in the higher salary grade, unless the rate is lower than the employee's regular rate, in which case the employee shall remain at his/her present rate of pay. It shall be the responsibility of the supervisor to identify those hours worked out of class for pay purposes.
