Working Out of Class. 33.1. Working-out-of-classification occurs when an employee in a regular position is temporarily assigned the duties of a higher paid classification for less than 30 consecutive calendar days. Employees working-out-of-classification may not be required to perform all the responsibilities of the higher-level classification, and therefore may continue to perform some of the responsibilities of their base position.
