Common use of Wage Rate Penalty Clause in Contracts

Wage Rate Penalty. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1775 of the Labor Code, the Contractor shall forfeit to the County, as a penalty, the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50) for each calendar day, or portion thereof, for each laborer, worker, or mechanic employed, paid less than the stipulated prevailing rates for any work done under this Contract, by him or by any subcontractor under him, in violation of the provisions of this Contract.
