Use, Family. The teacher may use accrued sick leave for the death or serious illness or injury of a member of the teacher's immediate family in order for the teacher to be present with the family member, to be present at the funeral, or to attend to pressing family business relative to the illness, injury, or death. The teacher may also use accrued sick leave in the event of an illness, death or injury of any person living within the teacher's household in the event that the teacher has a reasonable need to attend to that person. The teacher may use accrued sick leave under this section at the rate of ten (10) days per standard work year.
