Tenure System. A. Definition of Tenure: Tenure is defined as a continuous employment relationship with the University that is officially recognized as such by the Board of Trustees. Tenure is granted by the Board of Trustees upon successful demonstration by the Bargaining Unit Member of fulfillment of the requirements for tenure in accordance with the criteria and procedures of this Agreement. Tenured faculty may only be disciplined or terminated for just cause.
