Common use of Temporary Classification Assignments Clause in Contracts

Temporary Classification Assignments. 20.01 If an employee is temporarily assigned by the employer to a lower classification according to rates of pay than that in which he/she is regularly assigned, no reduction in pay will result. If an employee meets the qualifications of the position and is temporarily placed in a higher classification for five (5) days, according to rates of pay than that in which he/she is regularly assigned, the affected employee will receive the rate of pay of the higher classification for time spent at the lowest step that exceed the employee’s current rate of pay. The employee will be responsible to have his/her time card marked for the higher rate for the time that is involved. Failure to properly note the time card as described above will result in forfeiture of the entitlement. **********
