Teachers Pensions and LGPS Teachers Pensions. There are, within the Payroll Service, functions that will not be delegated to Schools. The DFE have stated that the following aspects of the administration of the Teachers’ Pension Fund must remain with the LEA regardless of the school’s payroll provider. The functions below are therefore the responsibility of the LBE Payroll and Pension Service: • The monthly remittance to the TP of Teacher’s Pension Contributions including relevant monthly returns. • The year-end balancing of accounts and the subsequent completion of form EOYC for the TP. • MDC – Monthly data collection of service and salary. (Soon to be MCR) Each School has employer administrative responsibilities which it will need to meet in respect of its employees who contribute to Teachers’ Pensions (TP). If a school decides NOT to enter into this SLA and procure payroll services from another third party the school is responsible for the following in relation to Teacher Pensions: • Pension Contributions & Year End Returns The school will create a monthly standing order from the school’s bank account into the Borough’s account transferring agreed funds relating to the teachers’ pension contributions on an agreed date.
