Street Lighting Cut Outs. Fuses and Terminations All street lighting cut outs, fuses and terminations shall be provided by the Contracting Body. The street lighting cut outs, fuses and terminations shall not be inserted into the street lighting column, traffic sign pole or feeder pillar, until it is securely erected. All cut-outs will typically be of a double pole fuse or MCB ‘loop- in’ type with shall be fitted with a protective device of the appropriate rating to control the lighting equipment of the column, sign or outgoing circuit in which the cut-out is fixed. Local Authority supply network cables are typically of the ‘steel wire armoured’ cable type and terminations are made with a proprietary gland, having an appropriate shroud, bracket or extension chamber to facilitate termination, with integral dedicated earth terminal, secured directly to the backboard. The armouring of the cables shall be bonded to the main earth block and a typical local Authority street lighting cut out termination is shown in Appendix D Figure 3. The particular details of all street lighting cut outs, fuses and terminations requirements will be detailed on the Work Order.
