Status of Tenure and Pension. The period of sabbatical leave shall count as regular service for the purpose of retirement and contributions by the teacher to the retirement fund and shall continue as usual during that period. Tenure rights shall not be impaired. The period of time spent on sabbatical leave shall be counted for the purpose of salary increments just as though the teacher had actively engaged in teaching.
