STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. 25.1 Definition 25.1.1 Staff professional development includes in-service activities, conferences, professional growth, individual projects, group projects, seminars and workshops. 25.1.2 The District shall provide District funds for staff professional development for classified personnel. 25.1.3 District policies and regulations shall direct the attendance, reimbursement procedures and reporting requirements for employees who are approved for staff professional development activities outside the District. 25.2 Staff Professional Development Day / Staff Professional Development Committee There shall be a staff professional development day each fiscal year for classified employees. The schedule and content shall be developed by the District Staff professional development Committee. LBCCE shall appoint four (4) representatives to the Classified Staff professional development Committee. 25.3 Notice of Staff Professional Development Opportunities Notice of staff professional development opportunities, including workshops and local seminars, shall be circulated in writing or by email to all classified employees by the District on a timely basis to facilitate employee participation. Such notice will be made sufficiently in advance of the staff professional development opportunity in order to provide employees with an opportunity to request attendance. The list will be updated as information becomes available. 25.4 Individual Staff Professional Development Opportunities 25.4.1 Classified employees may also attend appropriate staff professional development activities. These shall include but not be limited to safety procedures, equipment operation training, activities relating to their work areas, stress management, time management, team building, computer training, and customer relations. 25.4.2 Requests requiring release time to attend the staff professional development activity and payment of fees must have the supervisor’s approval. Funds must be available to pay the costs of the staff professional development activity and the office or area must be adequately covered. If the staff professional development activity occurs off-campus on multiple dates and locations, the manager of the area may select the location and date that has the least impact on the area operation. 25.5 Professional Growth Staff Professional Development The District will encourage professional growth staff professional development educational activities. STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The Contractor agrees that it shall maintain a program of professional development within its organization, specifically focused on those employees who provide services under the terms of this purchase of service agreement. The Contractor shall provide services using qualified staff, who shall receive at least 18 hours of in-service training annually. The Contractor shall require staff dedicated to this agreement to attend a minimum of 8 hours of DVR sponsored training programs through the term of this contract or as applicable and directed by DVR.
STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. 33.01 The Employer shall make available reference materials as may be required in relation to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of client care. (a) When the Employer requires that an Employee attend any educational program, such attendance shall be with pay and all registration or tuition fees and expenses related to the program shall be paid by the Employer. (b) When equipment and/or services and/or best practice guidelines are introduced or changed that have a direct impact and result in a subsequent change in the delivery of nursing services, the Employer shall provide and require Employees directly affected to attend in-service education to Employees. (c) If an Employee is required by the Employer to attend or participate in In- Service Education Programs or staff meetings such shall be regarded as working time under the terms of this Agreement and compensated accordingly for such time. However, no Employee shall be penalized for not attending courses or staff meetings which are not required by the Employer. (d) In addition to any in-service the Employer may identify as mandatory, all Employees shall be provided in-services for the skills required for their area of nursing practice. Both parties agree that a planning meeting should be held to discuss suggestions and requests concerning programs at the beginning of each fiscal year. (e) The Employer shall reimburse Employees for the cost of registration and course materials for Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation training. (f) Insofar as regular operation of the Employer will permit, leave of absence without pay shall be granted upon request to enable an Employee to fulfill the continuing educational requirements for registered nurse licensure and/or for professional purposes
STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. A. Directly paid by District Costs for Employees participating in staff development activities (classes, courses, seminars, and/or workshops) shall be borne by the appropriate department, when such activities have been determined to be job related, approved by the immediate supervisor and within the department’s budget. The suggestions for the activity may be initiated by the Employee. MESD 2024-2027 Confidential Non-Contracted Agreement B. Staff Development Reimbursement Including Tuition 1. Individual Employees will be eligible for up to $3,000 in staff development and/or tuition reimbursements per contract year. Balances are forfeit at the end of the calendar year and do not rollover. 2. Activities must be job-related and approved by the immediate supervisor prior to requesting prepayment or reimbursement. 3. Activities that are not awarding college credit are reimbursed at the cost to attend; including, fees, books, materials and travel. Travel expenses must adhere to the MESD Travel Expense Reimbursement Administrative Regulation (DLC-AR). 4. Post-secondary tuition reimbursement will be at the per quarter credit rate at Portland State University regardless of the institution to which the tuition is paid. If the amount of tuition is less than this amount, then the amount to be reimbursed would be the lesser amount. Other fees, books or materials related to the class are reimbursed at cost. 5. MESD will reimburse the tuition as soon as approval is received and the class has been completed, unless prepayment has been requested. 6. Employees who fail to complete or pass a prepaid professional development activity as defined in section 6.B. will reimburse the district within 30 days of the end of the activity.

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Continuing Professional Development If, during the life of the Agreement, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is introduced for plumbers, all time spent in complying with the CPD obligations will be the responsibility of each plumber.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Professional Development Plan Professional Development Plan (PDP) refers to plans developed by faculty members addressing the criteria contained in Article 22 and Appendix G.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members. (b) Information collected as part of this program shall be the sole property of the faculty member. This information or any judgments arising from this program shall not be used to determine non-renewal or termination of a faculty member's contract, suspension or dismissal of a faculty member, denial of advancement on the salary scale, nor affect any other administrative decisions pertaining to the promotion or employment status of the faculty member. (c) A joint advisory committee consisting of three regular faculty members who shall be elected by and are P.D. Committee Chairpersons and three administrators shall make recommendations for the operation, financing and management of the Professional Development Program.
