Common use of Request for Opening of Negotiations Clause in Contracts

Request for Opening of Negotiations. A request for the opening of negotiations shall be submitted in writing by the Union to the Superintendent or by the Superintendent to the President of the Union and AFSCME Ohio Council 8, Athens Region on or before ninety (90) calendar days prior to the expiration if the current contract. If neither party gives notice of its desire to modify or terminate this Agreement as provided above, this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect from year to year after June 30, subject to modification or termination by either party on ninety (90) days written notice to the other prior to June 30, of any subsequent year. A mutually convenient meeting date shall be set no later than sixty (60) calendar days prior to the expiration of the current contract, unless both parties agree to a later date, to set dates and procedures for the ensuing meetings.
