Common use of Regular Employees Given Preference Clause in Contracts

Regular Employees Given Preference. The parties agree that in all cases of regular postings or temporary postings, regular employees having the required skills will be given preference over temporary employees. Notwithstanding the above, no more than two (2) regular employees shall change positions as a result of the first temporary vacancy being created. Any subsequent vacancies shall be filled by temporary employees unless the chain of postings is extended by mutual agreement. In cases where casual employees are being considered for positions, the casual applicant with the most shifts worked will be the successful applicant.
