Common use of Placement of Material in File Clause in Contracts

Placement of Material in File. When a principal or other administrator finds it necessary to make a notation in a member's file which reflects upon the member’s conduct, service, character, or personality, he shall afford the member the right to read such notation. The member shall acknowledge that he has read such notation by affixing his signature on the actual document filed, with the understanding that such signature does not indicate his agreement with its contents. The member shall also have the right to refute such notation and his answer shall be attached to the file copy.
