Participation in Association Activities. Since the American Association of University Professors has historically been a professional organization, professional participation in Association activities shall be credited as University service in the same manner that other professional service is credited. All members of the bargaining unit shall be permitted to attend regularly- scheduled meetings of the Association, or meetings of appropriate committees of the Association, without penalty, provided that such attendance does not interfere with the discharge of their University responsibilities.
