Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund, one (1¢) cent per hour per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Such leave will be for upgrading the employee skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.
Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

Employment Relations Education Leave The Employer shall grant leave on pay for employees party to this MECA to attend courses authorised by NZNO to facilitate the employee’s education and training as employee representatives in the workplace. The numbers of days education leave granted is based on the formula of 35 days per annum for the first 280 full time equivalent employees (employees covered by this MECA who have authorised the NZNO to act on their behalf) and a further five days per annum for every 100 full time equivalent employees thereafter. Personal Leave of Absence The Administrator may grant a request for leave of absence for personal reasons without pay provided that he receives at least one (1) month's clear notice, in writing, unless impossible, and provided that such leave may be arranged without undue inconvenience to the normal operations of the Nursing Home. Employees when applying for such leave shall indicate the proposed date of departure and return. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

Personnel Selection Leave 35.6.1 Where an employee participates in a personnel selection process for a position in the Public Service, as defined in the Financial Administration Act, the Council shall grant leave of absence with pay for the period during which the employee's presence is required for purposes of the selection process, and for such further period as the Council considers reasonable for the employee to travel to and from the place where his presence is so required.
