Overtime and Lieu Time. Overtime shall be any time spent in the service of the Employer in excess of an Employee’s normal hours of work. Where an Employee is required to work for any period in excess of fifteen (15) minutes the Employee’s normal hours of work, such time shall accumulate, including the first fifteen (15) minutes and be credited to the Employee as overtime. Absent exigent circumstances or the unavailability of the Employee’s supervisor, manager or Police Chief, all overtime must be Where, due to these circumstances, an Employee works overtime without the appropriate approval, the Employee will contact their supervisor at the first opportunity and discuss the reasons why the Employee worked overtime. Where the Employer determines that an Employee shall not be permitted to work overtime without the express of the Employee’s supervisor, manager or Police Chief, the Employee shall be so advised in writing. Unless the Canada Labour Code or the Regulations thereto prescribe a greater rate, all overtime shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1 hour of overtime for every hour worked in excess of the Employee’s normal hours of work or a portion thereof. For the purpose of calculating partial hours, overtime shall be computed to the nearest half hour, and a period of fifteen (15) minutes to thirty (30) minutes shall be credited as half hour while a period of one minute to fourteen (14) minutes shall be disregarded. Overtime may be taken in cash or in compensatory time off, at the Employee’s election. Overtime which an Employee has accumulated may be taken off by the Employee as part of a day, or as whole day or days. The Employee shall make the request to the Employee’s supervisor and the time off will only be taken Where an Employee has accumulated hours in an overtime bank as provided for above, and at the end of the calendar year, there are hours in the overtime bank, the Employee may carry all of the hours in the overtime bank into the next calendar year and use the accumulated hours as days off as set out in Article above. Provided, however, that in any event an Employee shall not be permitted to accumulate more than two hundred (200) hours in an overtime bank. Any banked time in excess of two hundred (200) hours shall be cashed out at the Employee’s rate of pay in effect at the time it was earned.

Overtime and Lieu Time. Employees shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half for all authorized work performed in excess of eight (8) hours per day (with the exception of the additional make-up time) and for all authorized work performed outside the employee’s regularly scheduled work week and at the rate of double time for all authorized work performed on Sunday and statutory holidays. An employee called in outside of the employee’s regular working hours will be paid a minimum of three (3) hours’ pay at the overtime rate. Custodians who work outside their regular working hours because of the Community Use of Schools Program shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours. Overtime and time in any school will be divided equitably among those employed in that school. If overtime is not accepted by staff at the school, the overtime will be offered to staff who have expressed an interest in being on the Board’s overtime roster. If that list is exhausted, the Board reserves the right to assign floater custodial staff to perform the hours.
Overtime and Lieu Time. 10.1 Overtime shall be deemed to be any time a member is required to work before or after the normal tour of duty, provided the time worked is continuous to or beyond the normal tour of duty. 10.2 The overtime a member works, provided it is of at least thirty (30) minutes duration, shall be credited to the member for the total overtime so worked including the first thirty (30) minutes and shall be calculated at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the hourly rate. 10.3 When a member completes a period of overtime as hereinbefore defined, the member shall indicate to the member's superior officer whether the member elects to be paid for such overtime or to take time off in lieu thereof. The election shall be recorded accordingly in the log provided by the Chief. 10.4 Periods of overtime which a member has elected to take as lieu time off shall be allowed to accumulate at the rate of one and one half (1 1/2) hours for every overtime hour worked and may be taken as time off by the member either as part of a day or as a whole day or days, when requested by the member, subject to mutual agreement between the member and the Chief of Police. 10.5 The Board and the Association agree that when an Officer is called in for police service while he is on his rest days or off-duty, he shall be entitled to be paid a minimum of four (4) hours overtime for the first four hours or part thereof he may work of the call out. Any subsequent call outs or any hours over the minimum fours hours referred to above will be paid at an overtime rate of one time and one-half on an hour for hour basis until his tour of duty is concluded. 10.6 Payment of overtime shall be made on the last pay of each month following the previous month (e.g. April overtime paid in May).

(b) Custodial/Maintenance staff may bank their hours worked outside of their regular working hours at a rate of time and a half (1½) paid for each hour worked in lieu of monies. Banked lieu time shall accumulate up to a maximum of twenty-five and one half (25.5) hours and must be used by December 31st of the year time was accumulated. Such time shall be taken at a mutually agreeable time between the employee and their Supervisor/respective Principal. Where possible, lieu time shall not be scheduled where such scheduling would create additional overtime within the site. In exceptional or unforeseen circumstances, lieu time may be carried over to the next calendar year upon approval of the Superintendent - Facilities Services. It is understood that lieu time used Monday to Thursday during the months of September-May must be used at eight and one half (8.5) hours to make up time off for a shift.
Overtime and Lieu Time. Effective date of ratification a member will be allowed to accumulate overtime hours up to a maximum of eight (8) days per year as lieu time, calculated at the appropriate premium rate as outlined in Article 15.02 and 15.
Overtime and Lieu Time. 27.01 Overtime shall be for time spent in direct service to the client in excess of an Employee’s scheduled hours of work as approved by the Employer. Employee required to work overtime shall be paid in lieu time at time and one half for hours worked in excess of 35 hours. 27.02 Where an Employee completes a period of overtime as defined in this Agreement the Employee shall indicate to the Employee’s supervisor whether the Employee elects to use the lieu time for time off at time and a half within the following 24 hours or put such equivalent time off at time and a half in a lieu bank for later use. 27.03 In electing to put the lieu time equivalent of overtime in a lieu bank, the Employee may take such lieu time off as part of a day or as whole day(s). The Employee shall make the request to the Employee’s supervisor and the time off will only be taken with the agreement of the Employee’s supervisor. 27.04 Where an Employee maintains a lieu bank as provided for above all such time off must be exhausted within the year in which it was accumulated and no such banked time will be carried beyond the calendar year in which it was accumulated.

  • Overtime and Compensatory Time Overtime work shall be compensated as follows: A. Hours in an active pay status in excess of forty (40) hours in any calendar week shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the total rate of pay, as defined by Section 43.01, for each hour of such time. Total rate of pay includes the base rate plus longevity, all applicable supplements, and shift differential where applicable. B. An employee may elect to take compensatory time off in lieu of cash overtime payment for hours in an active pay status more than forty (40) hours in any calendar week. Such compensatory time shall be granted on a time and one-half (1 1/2) basis. C. The maximum accrual of compensatory time shall be two hundred forty (240) hours and compensatory time must be taken within one (1) year of its being earned. D. When the maximum hours of compensatory time accrual is rendered, payment for overtime work shall be made in cash. Compensatory time not taken within one (1) year shall be paid in cash to a maximum of eighty (80) hours in any pay period. E. Compensatory time is not available for use until it appears on the employee’s earnings statement and on the date the funds are made available. F. Upon termination of employment, an employee shall be paid for unused compensatory time at a rate which is the higher of: 1. The final total rate received by the employee, or 2. The average total rate received by the employee during the last three (3) years of employment. For the purposes of this Article, active pay status is defined as the conditions under which an employee is eligible to receive pay, and includes, but is not limited to, vacation leave and personal leave. Sick leave and any leave used in lieu of sick leave shall not be considered as active pay status for purposes of this Article. Compensatory time requests must be submitted in writing twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the anticipated time off, unless the need for time off is of an emergency nature.

  • Sick Time An employee shall have all of his/her accrued sick leave credits transferred when the employee is transferred to a different State agency.

  • Crib Time (i) When an Employee is required to work overtime after the usual ceasing time for the day or shift for two hours or more, he/she shall be allowed to take, without deduction of pay, a crib time of twenty minutes in duration immediately after such ceasing time and thereafter, after each four hours of continuous work, he/she shall be allowed to take also, without deduction of pay, a crib time of 30 minutes in duration. (ii) In the event of an Employee remaining at work after the usual ceasing time without taking the crib time of twenty minutes and continuing at work for a period of two hours or more, he/she shall be regarded as having worked twenty minutes more than the time worked and be paid accordingly.

  • CONTRACT TIME AND LIQUIDATED DAMAGES (7-1-95) (Rev. 12-18-07) 108 SP1 G10 A The date of availability for this contract is October 29, 2018. The completion date for this contract is November 15, 2019. Except where otherwise provided by the contract, observation periods required by the contract will not be a part of the work to be completed by the completion date and/or intermediate contract times stated in the contract. The acceptable completion of the observation periods that extend beyond the final completion date shall be a part of the work covered by the performance and payment bonds. The liquidated damages for this contract are Two Thousand Dollars ($ 2,000.00) per calendar day.
