Outside Professional Activity. 12.2.1 Members may engage in any outside professional activities subject to the following conditions: 12.2.1.1 No Member may engage in any outside professional activity which conflicts or interferes with the fulfilment of the Member's obligations to the University without prior written permission of the ▇▇▇▇/director; 12.2.1.2 A Member shall obtain the prior written authorization of the ▇▇▇▇/director regarding the Member's engagement in any outside paid, or substantial non-paid, professional activity that might reasonably be viewed as conflicting or interfering with the obligations, duties and responsibilities of the Member, as defined in this Agreement. Such authorization shall not be unreasonably withheld. Where, in extraordinary circumstances, prior written authorization cannot be obtained, the Member shall seek written authorization as soon as possible; 12.2.1.3 A Member shall notify his/her the Member’s ▇▇▇▇/director within thirty (30) days in writing as to the nature and extent of any paid and any substantial non-paid, outside professional activity which the Member has assumed or agreed to assume; 12.2.1.4 When a Member's outside activities involve the use of the University's facilities, supplies or services, their the Member’s use shall be subject to the prior approval of the University. The costs of the use of such facilities, supplies or services shall be borne by the Member at prevailing rates set by the University, unless the University agrees, in writing, to waive all or part of such costs; 12.2.1.5 The name of the University shall not be used by a Member in any outside professional activity unless agreed to in writing by the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and Vice-President (Academic), although nothing shall prevent the Member from stating the nature and place of her/his the Member’s employment, rank and title (s) in connection with outside professional activities, provided that she/he the Member shall not purport to represent the University or speak for it, or to have its approval unless that approval has been given in writing; 12.2.1.6 Upon written request of the University a Member shall submit a written report of all professional activities of a substantial nature by June 30 of any academic year to the ▇▇▇▇/director.
Outside Professional Activity. 13.1 “Outside Professional Activity” (O.P.A.) refers to those activities which the academic staff member performs as a community service unless otherwise contractually arranged with the Governors or those for which the academic staff member may receive remuneration.
Outside Professional Activity. A member of the academic staff may engage in outside professional activity or act in a consulting or advisory capacity to public or private clients, recognizing that suitable contact with the public and private sectors offers a desirable means whereby he/she may relate his/her professional activities and teaching to current practice, trends and developments, and thereby secure stimulation and experience valuable to his continued growth in his/her field of special interest and in enriching his/her educational services, subject to the following: (i) Such professional activity shall neither conflict nor interfere with the fulfilment of his/her duties and responsibilities as provided in this Agreement.

  • Outside Professional Activities 30.1 The employer recognizes that participation by a faculty member in outside professional activities beyond the university (in areas such as government, industry, business, and the profession) is desirable when such participation contributes to the member’s professional and scholarly development. 30.2 For the purposes of this article, ―outside professional activities‖ are defined as: 30.2.1 Paid employment in any capacity by another employer, including carrying out teaching duties 30.2.2 Consulting 30.2.3 Private practice of the member’s profession 30.2.4 Self-employment 30.3 A member engaging in such activities shall report by 1 July to her ▇▇▇▇ (or the University Librarian), with a copy to her Chair/Director, on their nature and scope. 30.4 A member may engage in paid or unpaid outside professional activities under the following conditions: 30.4.1 Such activities shall not conflict or interfere with the performance of the member's assigned duties and responsibilities, as described in this Agreement; 30.4.2 A member shall not devote more than one (1) work day per week to such activities in any academic year; 30.4.3 Where such duties shall require more than one (1) work day or the equivalent per week of the time the member is employed by the University as per this Agreement and as per her teaching (or library work) schedule, the member, her Chair/Director, and ▇▇▇▇ (or University Librarian) shall agree, in writing, to a mutually acceptable schedule. A copy of this agreement shall be entered in the member's academic file. 30.5 The Employer shall not underwrite any extraordinary costs of outside professional activities unless the ▇▇▇▇ (or the University Librarian) has provided a written commitment prior to commencement of the activity. 30.6 If University facilities are used in connection with such activities, this use shall be undertaken with written consent, and the member shall pay the cost for any such use at prevailing rates. The member remains responsible for all matters concerning the scientific, technological and financial control of the project, and the name of the University shall not be used without prior consent.

  • Professional Activities a. The presentation of a scholarly paper or other original professional material relevant to the faculty member’s present field of employment at a conference, workshop, seminar or gallery showing, which shows evident research and is not merely extemporaneous in nature, may earn 0.5 to one (1) units depending upon scope. b. Holding a position of leadership on the association’s Executive Board or the Academic Senate or being chair or co-chair of District councils or committees for three (3) or more consecutive years may earn one (1) to three (3) units for each year.

  • CRIMINAL ACTIVITY If subsequent to the effectiveness of this Agreement, NYSERDA comes to know of any allegation previously unknown to it that the Contractor or any of its principals is under indictment for a felony, or has been, within five (5) years prior to submission of the Contractor’s proposal to NYSERDA, convicted of a felony, under the laws of the United States or Territory of the United States, then NYSERDA may exercise its stop work right under this Agreement. If subsequent to the effectiveness of this Agreement, NYSERDA comes to know of the fact, previously unknown to it, that Contractor or any of its principals is under such indictment or has been so convicted, then NYSERDA may exercise its right to terminate this Agreement. If the Contractor knowingly withheld information about such an indictment or conviction, NYSERDA may declare the Agreement null and void and may seek legal remedies against the Contractor and its principals. The Contractor or its principals may also be subject to penalties for any violation of law which may apply in the particular circumstances. For a Contractor which is an association, partnership, corporation, or other organization, the provisions of this paragraph apply to any such indictment or conviction of the organization itself or any of its officers, partners, or directors or members of any similar governing body, as applicable.

  • Additional Activities I agree that during the period of my employment by the Company I will not, without the Company's express written consent, engage in any employment or business activity which is competitive with, or would otherwise conflict with, my employment by the Company. I agree further that for the period of my employment by the Company and for one (l) year after the date of termination of my employment by the Company I will not induce any employee of the Company to leave the employ of the Company.

  • Promotional Activities ‌ 24 At the request of North Sound BH-ASO, Provider shall display promotional materials in its 25 offices and facilities as practical, in accordance with applicable law and cooperate with and 26 participate in all reasonable marketing efforts. Provider shall not use any North Sound BH- 27 ASO name in any advertising or promotional materials without the prior written permission of 28 North Sound BH-ASO.
