Leave of Absence Union Officials. a. Any bargaining unit employee who is a Council or Local union official may request LWOP for up to one (1) year to serve with AFGE, the Council or Local Union. Requests may be approved contingent upon the Activity being able to reasonably provide for the employee’s work being accomplished. Requests for extension of LWOP for more than one (1) year may be granted under the same circumstances.
