Common use of Leave for Public Service Clause in Contracts

Leave for Public Service. A tenured teacher may be granted Leave for Public Service on an annual basis if elected or appointed to public office, subject to sufficient notice to make adequate provision for replacement. Such leave may be extended beyond a second year upon recommendation of the President and approval of the Board. Request for extension must be made in writing at least sixty (60) days before the expiration date of the original Leave.
