In compliance with the University’s Affirmative Action policy, job categories and departments will be reviewed. In classifications in which the University can demonstrate under- utilization of protected class members, the University may take remedial action to correct the under-utilization for both vacant positions and promotional/transfer opportunities. Such action may include placement of a Human Resources staff member as an advisor to review candidates, extending the posting period, submission of written justification if an apparently qualified under- utilized candidate is not recommended for hire, transfer or promotion, and Human Resources review and approval of a recommended or selected candidate. The provisions of Article 14 are intended to be in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws. Utilization data must be referenced from the Affirmative Action Plan updated within the most recent twelve-month period. The Search Committee must be informed of such under-utilization prior to beginning a review of candidates.
