FUNERAL EXPENSES. In the event an employee is killed in the line of duty, or dies from injuries sustained in the line of duty, the Employer shall pay the sum of $10,000 toward funeral and connected expenses to the employee’s surviving spouse (or, if none, to the employee’s heirs) regardless of amounts paid from other sources.
