Faculty, Grade Level or Department Meetings. The District may require faculty members to attend two (2) building faculty meetings, or grade level or department meetings in each building, or any combination of the foregoing, per month outside of the normal employee workday. The intent is to, under normal circumstances, not extend the workday beyond sixty (60) minutes for Grade Level, Department and/ or Faculty meetings. Any two (2) such meetings per month shall be interpreted as meetings which are ‘regularly scheduled’ meetings for the purpose of this Agreement. Attendance at ‘regularly scheduled’ faculty, grade level and department meetings shall be compulsory. Failure to attend without a written excuse from the Building Principal or Special Education Supervisor shall constitute insubordination and shall be reflected on the rating form. Upon submission of an explanation setting forth a verified legitimate reason an employee may be excused by the Building Principal or Special Education Supervisor from those regularly scheduled meetings.
