Common use of Extension of Agreement Clause in Contracts

Extension of Agreement. A. One year prior to the date of expiration of this agreement, LOCAL AGENCY shall give STATE written notice of whether LOCAL AGENCY will extend or enter into a new agreement with STATE for fire protection services and, if so, whether LOCAL AGENCY intends to change the level of fire protection services from that provided by this agreement. If this agreement is executed with less than one year remaining on the term of the agreement, LOCAL AGENCY shall provide this written notice at the time it signs the agreement and the one year notice requirement shall not apply.
