Extended Programs Clause Samples

The "Extended Programs" clause defines the terms under which a program, service, or agreement may be continued beyond its original duration or scope. Typically, this clause outlines the conditions for extending the program, such as mutual agreement, notice requirements, or additional fees that may apply for the extended period. For example, it may allow a client to continue receiving services for an extra term if both parties consent and certain criteria are met. The core function of this clause is to provide a clear mechanism for prolonging the relationship or service, thereby offering flexibility and predictability for both parties.
Extended Programs. The following procedures are for extended programming: 1. Professionals and paraprofessionals employed for a longer period of time than the normal school year may, at their option, request personal leave of absence for the portion of their assignment that extends beyond the regular school year by notifying the District in writing prior to March 1 each year. Based on the leave requests received as required, extended year positions will be posted on or before March 1 for mandated 223 day programs and in compliance with the school district's special education plan, or when the need for the service is determined. Summer program daily work hours will be 4.5 hours for staff with 4.0 hours for the student day. Ancillary services for students will be scheduled through the departments with the approval of administration. 2. For each classroom during the extended school year, one (1) teacher or teacher assistant assigned to the building during the regular school year must accept an extended year assignment as mutually agreed by the classroom employees or as determined by Section F, 5, c below. 3. Extended school year positions shall be posted for seven (7) days. Employees confirming their intent to work the extended portion of their assignments will be given first consideration for their assignments. Other employees indicating an interest in writing in an extended program position will be considered next for these positions. All other certified/qualified applicants will be considered for any remaining positions. 4. Every effort will be made to secure outside personnel through normal posting procedures for positions not filled in accordance with Section F, 2 and 3 above. All such certified/qualified applicants will be considered for these remaining positions. 5. Should insufficient applicants be forthcoming by May 1, employees regularly assigned to such programs must work the extended year as follows: a. New staff notified at the time of hiring that they may be required to work the extended year program; b. If there is no new staff in an affected department, the employees from that department will develop a method of meeting the staffing needs; c. If the employees cannot agree, the employee who will be required to work the extended year program will be determined by lottery. No employee so selected will be required to work two (2) extended year programs in a row. 6. Employees must confirm who will be working the extended program no later than June 1.
Extended Programs. Although most students are expected to graduate in four academic years, some may be permitted to remain at Haverford for an additional, ninth semester to complete their degree requirements. Such permission is granted very rarely, upon petition to CSSP, and only in instances in which a student has no other means by which to complete their degree (typically due to the need to take courses in satisfaction of a major that can be fulfilled only while at Haverford). Students who are on financial aid must submit a separate appeal to the Financial Aid Committee requesting a ninth semester of financial aid. The College never grants a tenth semester except in instances in which the Office of Access and Disabilities Services has deemed it necessary to do so pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act. Some students may also study at another college or university in the United States for the enrichment to be gained through different or more diversified liberal arts offerings. Some study at another school simply to experience college life in a different setting. Haverford has formal exchange programs with Claremont McKenna and Pitzer Colleges in California and Spelman College in Georgia. Permission for such study must be granted by the student’s advisor and ▇▇▇▇. All courses must be approved in advance by the chairs of the appropriate Haverford departments. In order to provide a semester’s credit at Haverford (four course credits), a program at another institution must represent at least one-eighth of the degree program there; and similarly, in order to provide a year’s credit at Haverford, the program must represent one-quarter of the degree at the other institution. Students who expect to study away from Haverford for a semester or a year must confirm their intention in writing to their ▇▇▇▇, using the same timetable as that for a ▇▇▇▇’▇ leave. They should also inform their ▇▇▇▇ when they have been accepted by the institution to which they have applied. Naturally, they will have discussed at an earlier time tentative plans with their advisor and ▇▇▇▇. They should, finally, ensure that they will have earned 19 credits outside of their major and fulfilled the general education requirements by the end of the senior year. Note: Students may not attend programs abroad through an American college or university during the academic year and receive credit at Haverford unless they go through the Office of International Academic Programs.
Extended Programs. A driver who has been assigned an extended program route will have that route as long as the program is in need, unless the driver chooses to give the route to another driver.
