Executive overview. The Employer requires the services of a Contractor to provide eddy current inspection, tube marking and tube plugging services of the steam generator tubes at Koeberg Power Station during outages. The inspections shall be performed in accordance with Section V and XI of ASME code (2007 Edition with Addenda up to and including 2008) and the EPRI Steam generator Examination Guidelines. The services are required for a period of two (2) years at Koeberg Operating Unit, the planning of which are in accordance with the Employer’s 10 year Production Plan. The production plan is subject to revision from time to time but the required services are based on the current plan (Revision 72). The actual inspection windows during outages shall be communicated via the Task Order for each outage. 1.2 Employer’s requirements for the service Eddy Current inspections and associated services of Koeberg Power Station’s replacement steam generator tubes as required below:  Pre-service multi-frequency eddy current inspections (100% bobbin coil inspection) of replacement steam generator tubes (type 60/19 T) after installation (refer to section 14 for specifications) The inspections must cover all support work, which must include the following as a minimum:  Certification and qualification of procedures, personnel and equipment in accordance with ASME Code and EPRI Steam Generator Examination Guidelines  Equipment preparation and shipment  Submission of procedures and intervention files  Supply of calibration tubes  Eddy current inspections of steam generator tubes on site  Data acquisition and transmittal in real time to off-site evaluation premises if necessary  Interpretation and analysis of data  Classification of indications and reporting  Marking of tubes for plugging as required The Employer or its representative, may perform surveillance of the preparation work and onsite inspections. This could include visit to the Contractor premises, review of documentation and technical meetings with the Contractor. Daily meetings are to be planned at Koeberg Nuclear Power Station for the duration of the inspection interventions. The Contractor shall make provision for adequate coverage for the preparation, acquisition and evaluation of the inspection scope. Where work is scheduled on the critical path of the outage, 24 hours per day, and 7 days per week shift cover will be required.

Executive overview. The Employer requires scope of work for the services of a Contractor to provide eddy current inspection, tube marking and tube plugging services of fire protection (mechanical) system for the steam generator tubes at Koeberg entire Tutuka Power Station during outagesFire Protection system.  Become familiar with the entire protection system  Review existing PM’s and identify new PM’s to be developed  Assist with Compiling new PM’s using the template supplied by the Employer. The inspections shall PM’s must be performed in accordance with Section V Eskom Standard 240-54937454 -Inspection, Testing and XI Maintenance of ASME code Fire Protection Systems Standard  Review or update check sheets for the approval by the Employer  Perform inspections, condition monitoring, testing and lubrication, removal and replacement of all fire pumps, valves, nozzles, pipework and sprinkler bulbs associated as required.  Identify and report all leaks on fire system and do replacement / repairs as required.  Remove, replace and install all faulty equipment and spares of fire protection systems.  Conduct tests as per requirements.  The Contractor should attend to all faults and repairs  The Contractor will conduct during this contract period to any emergency call out and repairs of faults and damages that occurs to the protection system  Records of all faults or damage in the system will be kept in the System Log Book / Software System and repairs will be carried out as soon as possible and all faults should be reported to the Service Manager to the section's supervisor  The Contractor plans, organises, executes required tasks, reports back to the Employer's Supervisor and submits a weekly report on activities carried out during the contract period.  The Contractor optimises the new system in the units in consultation and as required by the Employer. Any procedures required will be compiled by the Employer, with the input of the Contractor as and when required.  The Contractor assists with drawings, layouts, spares and equipment needed for modification and implements modifications on the system as required by the Employer. The Contractor also proposes any modifications which the contractor deems will improve the control of the system. The modifications plans are presented to the Eskom Modification Approval committee by the Employer before they are implemented.  The Contractor compiles and reviews yearly, maintenance procedures for the protection system which are submitted to the Service Manager and performs or supervises maintenance activities where requested.  The Contractor submits a report of the work done (2007 Edition with Addenda up to completed and including 2008in progress) for recording by the Service Manager. The report will detail the problem or need, the solution provided (and how it was provided) and the EPRI Steam generator Examination Guidelines.
