Enrollment In Benefits Plans. (1) New and rehired employees have 30 days from the date of hire or rehire into a benefited position to make medical, dental and life insurance plan elections. Coverage will be effective on the first of the month following the enrollment. On the first of the month following 30 days of employment or re-employment employees that have not made plan election(s) shall automatically be enrolled in the default level of medical, dental, and basic life insurance coverage. Employees shall be charged the applicable level of employee contribution, if any, for each plan. Rehired employees will remain on the contribution Tier that was in effect at the time of their termination. During the first thirty (30) days of employment, an employee may waive coverage under the medical plan by providing proof satisfactory to the plan that the employee has other group medical insurance coverage.
