Common use of Employee Discretion Leave Clause in Contracts

Employee Discretion Leave. An employee shall be entitled to a maximum of four (4) days leave with pay in each year of continuous employment for the purpose of pressing personal reasons including but not limited to medical care, family leave/dependent care, mental health or education leave. An employee shall advise the Employer as soon as reasonably practical of her intention to take such leave. An employee shall not be required to provide any reason for taking such leave. An employee is not entitled to carry over any unused employee discretion leave into the next fiscal year, which is defined as beginning on April 1. An employee working part-time or casual shall be entitled to a pro-rated number of days leave, based on the actual number of hours worked.
