Common use of Distant Workers Clause in Contracts

Distant Workers. 7.3.1 A distant worker is an Employee working at such a distance from the Employee’s usual place of residence that it is impracticable for the Employee to return home each evening (60 km). 7.3.2 The Company will ensure that each prospective Employee makes a declaration of Usual Place of Residence upon application for employment and that each prospective Employee is briefed on the consequences of this declaration. (An Employee’s address on the electoral roll is an acceptable form of proof.) 7.3.3 Eligibility or non-eligibility for the provisions of this sub-clause will be based on the Employee declaration, which will be included in each contract of employment. The Company will provide a Living Away From Home Allowance of $375.00 per week. This allowance may be pro-rated per day worked when and if required; this amount will be $53.55 per day.
