Black and Hunter. ‌ In [16], Xxxxx and Xxxxxx explore the use of enthymemes in an inquiry dialogue. Their work is a combination of two papers [15, 41]. The former (i.e., [15]) introduces a general inquiry dialogue system as well as a strategy for each agent for picking a unique move to make in each step of the dialogue, whereas the latter (i.e., [41]) introduces a framework for using enthymemes in logic-based monological argumentation. In addition, soundness 9Since ASPIC+ captures ABA [59], a correspondence between ABA and ASPIC+ frameworks can be drawn. and completeness of the dialogue system presented in [15] are proven with regards to the arguments that can be instantiated from the union of the agents’ beliefs. Arguments in [16] are deductive. Specifically, a logical argument A is a pair ⟨Φ, α⟩, Ag where Φ is a consistent subset of a set of formulas ∆ that supports the claim α of A, and minimal in the sense that there is no subset of Φ that concludes α. Then an enthymeme E for A (which is called the intended argument) is defined as a pair ⟨Ψ, α⟩ where Ψ ⊂ Φ. Similarly to [17] described in Section 2.2.2, an agent Xx sends a real argument (i.e., either an intended argument or an enthymeme) to its counterpart Ag′ based on what Ag believes is common knowledge between them using a cobase function πAg′ : L → [0, 1] to create Ag Ag Ag
