Funerals A regular employee may be released from duty for a period up to three days without reducing base earnings in the event of the death of a member of the immediate family including parent, parent-in-law, brother, brother-in- law, sister, sister-in-law, spouse, son, son-in-law, daughter, daughter-in-law, grand-parents, grandparents-in- law and grandchildren. In the event of the death of a fellow employee, a regular employee may be allowed time off with pay to attend the funeral. Usually the time required is less than one-half day. Spouse The spouse of an eligible employee (if legally married under Minnesota law).
