Common use of ASSOCIATION AND EMPLOYEE RIGHTS Clause in Contracts

ASSOCIATION AND EMPLOYEE RIGHTS. X. Xxxxxxxx to the Public Employment Relations Act, the Board agrees that every employee within this bargaining unit has the right to fully organize, join and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in collective bargaining or negotiation and other lawful activities for mutual aid and protection. As a duly elected body exercising governmental power provided by law of the State of Michigan, the Board undertakes and agrees that it will not directly or indirectly discourage or deprive or coerce any employee in the enjoyment of any right conferred by law. The Board will not discriminate against any employee with respect to hours, wages, or any terms or conditions of employment by reason of membership or non-membership in the Association, participation in any lawful activities of the Association or collective professional negotiations with the Board, or institution of any grievance, complaint or proceeding under this Agreement with respect to any terms or conditions of employment. The Board and the Association agree that neither will discriminate against any employee because of his/her race, age, sex, creed, religion, marital status or disability.
