Absence Notification Procedures. When instructors, because of illness, weather conditions or other emergencies, find it necessary to be absent during their normal weekly 35-hour schedule, they should contact their immediate supervisor personally, if at all possible, prior to the beginning of their normal workday and if the absence occurs during their workday, prior to their absence. If the immediate supervisor cannot be reached, the instructor is to give any messages or instructions regarding their assignments to the supervisor's administrative assistant or with another professional in the office complex and a telephone number where they may be reached.
