Unreimbursed medical expense definition

Unreimbursed medical expense means a cost incurred by the taxpayer for medical care provided by a licensed physician, prescription drug, prescribed treatment for a physical condition or physical therapy, hospital or hospice charges, or other medical expenses that are eligible for a deduction pursuant to Section 213(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, that are not paid by a health insurance or any other policy of insurance, that are not paid by a third party and for which the taxpayer does not receive any type of payment or reimbursement. For purposes of the credit authorized by this section, eligibility for the credit shall not depend upon whether the taxpayer was able to claim the medical expense as an itemized deduction for purposes of the federal income tax return.

  • Medical Expense means an expense incurred at the time a past member or his or her health reimbursement account dependent is furnished the medical care or service. To be considered a medical expense under this act, the expense shall meet all of the following conditions:

  • Medical Expenses means those expenses that an Insured Person has necessarily and actually incurred for medical treatment on account of Illness or Accident on the advice of a Medical Practitioner, as long as these are no more than would have been payable if the Insured Person had not been insured and no more than other hospitals or doctors in the same locality would have charged for the same medical treatment.

  • Medical Reimbursement Programs means a collective reference to the Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE programs and any other health care program operated by or financed in whole or in part by any foreign or domestic federal, state or local government.

  • Capital Expenses expenses that are capital in nature or required under GAAP to be capitalized.

  • Legal Expenses means the fees, costs and expenses of any kind incurred by any Person indemnified herein and its counsel in investigating, preparing for, defending against or providing evidence, producing documents or taking other action with respect to any threatened or asserted Claim.

  • L/C Reimbursement Obligation means, for any Letter of Credit, the obligation of the Borrower to the L/C Issuer thereof, as and when matured, to pay all amounts drawn under such Letter of Credit.

  • Cost Reimbursement means a contract which provides for a fee other than a fee based on a percentage of cost and under which a contractor is reimbursed for costs which are allowable and allocable in accordance with the contract terms.
