Undue hardship as it relates to necessary medical care definition

Undue hardship as it relates to necessary medical care means an extreme difficulty in regard to getting to and from a location where petitioner or a member of his/her immediate family receives examinations, therapy or treatment, etc., prescribed or recommended by a licensed physical or mental health care provider. It means more than mere inconvenience. There must be no other reasonable alternative means of transportation available. An undue hardship is not demonstrated by the mere fact that the petitioner's driving privileges are suspended or revoked.

  • Emergency medical care means such medical procedures as:

  • psychiatric emergency medical condition means a Mental Disorder that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity that it renders the patient as being either of the following:

  • Emergency medical care provider means an individual who has been trained to provide emergency and nonemergency medical care at the first responder, EMT-basic, EMT-intermediate, EMT-paramedic, paramedic specialist or other certification levels recognized by the department before 1984 and who has been issued a certificate by the department.
