Sedated patient definition

Sedated patient means a patient that meets all of the following:
Sedated patient means a patient that meets all of the following: (i) Patient undergoes procedural sedation and whose level of consciousness is either moderate sedation or a higher level of sedation, as defined by the American Association of Anesthesiologists, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, or an equivalent definition; or (ii) Who requires observation by personnel, other than technical employees routinely assigned to the ct unit, who are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (cpr) and pediatric advanced life support (pals).

  • Clinical nurse specialist means a registered nurse with relevant post-basic qualifications and 12 months’ experience working in the clinical area of his/her specified post-basic qualification, or a minimum of four years’ post-basic registration experience, including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field and who satisfies the local criteria.

  • Outpatient means a person who is receiving care other than on an inpatient basis, such as: • in a provider’s office; • in an ambulatory surgical center or facility; • in an emergency room; or • in a clinic. .

  • Admitted patient means a person who occupies an approved bed in a hospital for the purpose of hospital treatment and includes:

  • Medical Expense means an expense incurred at the time a past member or his or her health reimbursement account dependent is furnished the medical care or service. To be considered a medical expense under this act, the expense shall meet all of the following conditions:

  • Medical Specialist means any medical practitioner who is vocationally registered by the Medical Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in one of the approved branches of medicine and who is employed in either that branch of medicine or in a similar capacity with minimal oversight.

  • In Patient Care means treatment for which the insured person has to stay in a hospital for more than 24 hours for a covered event.
