Local Access and Transport Area (LATA). Shall have the meaning set forth in 47 U.S.C. §153.
Local Access and Transport Area (LATA) means a contiguous geographic area: (1) established before the date of enactment of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 by BA-__ such that no Exchange area includes points within more than one metropolitan statistical area, consolidated metropolitan statistical area, or state, except as expressly permitted under the AT&T Consent Decree; or (2) established or modified by BA-__ after such date of enactment and approved by the Federal Communications Commission.
Local Access and Transport Area (LATA) means a local access transport area as defined by the commission in conformance with applicable federal law.

Local Access and Transport Area (LATA) means a geographic area established for the provision and administration of communications Service. It encompasses one or more designated exchanges, which are grouped to serve common social, economic and other purposes. For the purposes of this tariff Geographical Market Area (GMA) and LATA are intended to be interchangeable.
Local Access and Transport Area (LATA) means each local access and transport area which has been designated in this state. A LATA may encompass more than one contiguous local exchange service area in this state which serves common social, economic, or other purposes, even when that area transcends municipal or other local government boundaries.
