County means the county of Los Angeles or any public entities for which the board of supervisors is the governing body. (Ord. 2002-0040 § 1, 2002: Ord. 2002-0015 § 1 (part), 2002)
District or “School District” means the Crane Independent School District, being a duly authorized and operating school district in the State, having the power to levy, assess, and collect ad valorem taxes within its boundaries and to which Subchapter C of the Act applies. The term also includes any successor independent school district or other successor governmental authority having the power to levy and collect ad valorem taxes for school purposes on the Applicant’s Qualified Property or the Applicant’s Qualified Investment.
Home Country means, with respect to an Insured Person, the country or territory as shown on the Insured Person’s passport or the country or territory of which the Insured Person is a permanent resident.
clerk of the court means the person who for the time being is the clerk of every Magistrates Court at a place or places appointed under this Act for the holding of Magistrates Courts in question, and includes any assistant clerk of the court, deputy clerk of the court and any person who for the time being occupies or performs the duties of such office.
Southern means The Southern Company, its successors and assigns.
sitting means, in relation to a House, a period during which that House is sitting continuously without adjournment, and includes any period during which the House is in committee;
School district means the Crane Independent School District, being a duly authorized and operating school district in the State, having the power to levy, assess, and collect ad valorem taxes within its boundaries and to which Subchapter C of the Act applies. The term also includes any successor independent school district or other successor governmental authority having the power to levy and collect ad valorem taxes for school purposes on the Applicant’s Qualified Property or the Applicant’s Qualified Investment.
Participating county means any member county which has entered into a program offered by the Authority pursuant to Article 14 of this Agreement and has not withdrawn or been canceled therefrom pursuant to Articles 20 or 21.
Parish means the Church of England parish in which the Academy is situated or one which it serves;
State Court means a judicial body of a state that is vested by law with responsibility for adjudicating cases involving abuse, neglect, deprivation, delinquency, or status offenses of individuals who have not attained the age of eighteen (18).
District Office means District Office of the Division of Drinking Water of the State Water Board.
district municipality means a municipality that has municipal executive and legislative authority in an area that includes more than one municipality, and which is described in section 155 (1) of the Constitution as a category C municipality;
the City means the City and County of San Francisco, a municipal corporation, acting by and through both its Director of the Office of Contract Administration or the Director’s designated agent, hereinafter referred to as “Purchasing” and [insert name of department].
Districts – shall mean the Lake Ashton Community Development District (“LA CDD”) and Lake Ashton II Community Development District (“LAII CDD”), each a political subdivision of the State of Florida, created pursuant to Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes. Each individually may be referred to herein as a “District.”
Rural county means a county not located in a metropolitan statistical area or micropolitan statistical areas as those terms are defined under the "standards for defining metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas" by the statistical policy office of the office of information and regulatory affairs of the United States office of management and budget, 65 FR p. 82238 (December 27, 2000).
County highway means a public road that is constructed and
State Council means the resident members of the State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision created by each state under Article IV of this compact.
Non-Cooperative Jurisdiction means any foreign country that has been designated as noncooperative with international anti-money laundering principles or procedures by an intergovernmental group or organization, such as the Financial Task Force on Money Laundering, of which the U.S. is a member and with which designation the U.S. representative to the group or organization continues to concur;
District Court means the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
District board means the board of directors of the district.
State university means Montana state university-Bozeman.
Base jurisdiction means the member jurisdiction, selected in accordance with the plan, to which an applicant applies for apportioned registration under the plan or the member jurisdiction that issues apportioned registration to a registrant under the plan.
City means the City of Vancouver, a municipal corporation continued pursuant to the Vancouver Charter.
United States central authority means the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
Residence district means the territory contiguous to a highway, not comprising a business district,
