Hospital Sub-Acute Intensive Care Unit definition

Hospital Sub-Acute Intensive Care Unit. - means a place which: (a) is a specifically designated area of the hospital that provides a level of medical care below intensive care, but above a regular private or semi-private room or ward; (b) is separate and apart from the surgical recovery room and from rooms, beds and wards customarily used for patient Confinement; (c) is permanently equipped with special lifesaving equipment for the care of the critically ill or injured; and (d) is under constant and continuous observation by a specially trained nursing staff.

  • Intensive Care Unit means an identified section, ward or wing of a hospital which is under the constant supervision of a dedicated medical practitioner(s), and which is specially equipped for the continuous monitoring and treatment of patients who are in a critical condition, or require life support facilities and where the level of care and supervision is considerably more sophisticated and intensive than in the ordinary and other wards.

  • Neonatal intensive care unit means a designated level II or level III neonatal unit.

  • Hospice patient s family" means a hospice patient's immediate family members, including a spouse, brother, sister, child, or parent, and any other relative or individual who has significant personal ties to the patient and who is designated as a member of the patient's family by mutual agreement of the patient, the relative or individual, and the patient's interdisciplinary team.

  • Medical physicist means a person trained in evaluating the performance of mammography equipment and facility quality assurance programs and who meets the qualifications for a medical physicist set forth in 41.6(3)“c.”

  • Hospital system means a hospital and one or more
